⚠️Sadly, the US daily #COVID19 death toll continues to surge (nearly 2k/day).

As I've warned, our daily death toll will *keep rising* until ~2 weeks AFTER we #FlattenTheCurve of new #coronavirus cases, but daily cases *may* be starting to level off (thread).🤞🏼

The cumulative #COVID19 death toll in the US has now surpassed #Spain and soon will exceed #Italy ( #China not accurate).

Worse, MANY #coronavirus deaths have *not* been reported in the US, and "confirmed" deaths in the UK are reportedly 80% too low.😰

New daily US #coronavirus cases *may* be near the peak, but we need to wait a few more days to confirm.🤞🏼

Trends differ regionally: #NY is further along than other US regions. As #NY flattens its curve, other hot zones may continue to see a surge in new #COVID cases.
The cumulative number of #COVID19 cases in the US (>462k) far exceeds any other country ( #Spain >146k) outside #China (data NOT accurate).

The US waited longer than most countries to start #coronavirus testing and STILL has no nationwide #lockdown. This is the result.🤬
#NY has the highest recorded daily #COVID19 death toll (outside #China), and it will continue to rise ~2 weeks after new #coronavirus cases flatten.

For example, daily death tolls *still* remain high in #Spain (Madrid/Catalonia) and #Italy (Lombardy), even as new cases fall.😰
Cumulative #COVID19 deaths in #NY will soon pass #Italy for the highest outside #China. New cases *may* be flattening, deaths will continue to rise for weeks.

Deaths from #coronavirus in NJ and MI also continue to soar, followed by LA, CA, and FL.

The next month will be hell.😰
