Ok I finally finished Doris Payne's memoir and key takeaways:
1. None of the news articles nor her doc do her story justice at all, this woman led an incredible life, my mouth dropped at the twists and turns. She really stole jewels all over the world & said fuck the colonizers
2. She's hilarious and I want to have dinner with her

3. Near the end of the memoir after she turned 50 was a really sad, I felt really emotional reading all her hardships
4. She also basically implied that whatever movie producer she signed her life rights to took advantage of her being drugged up on painkillers, depressed after she served 18 months in jail (she dragged Tessa & doesn't want her playing her in the film )
5. Yea also whoever is still trying to make this, a film isn't enough. We need a full blown high budget miniseries because Doris Payne did way too much interesting stuff to boil down to 2 hours. (Psst I still want Nicole Beharie to play her)
