Alright twitter you seem to not know many recent books published by Muslims so let me shout out books by Muslims you all don’t seem to know about!
I give publishing grief but there are a far few recently. This doesn’t mean we want less, we obvs want more publishing.

The Greator Freedom by @alyamooro (a fantastic memoir)
My Past is a Foreign Country by @ZebaTalk (a memoir on being a Muslim feminist, mothers and the patriarchy)
The Seven Necessary Sins for Women and Girls by @monaeltahawy (this is phenomenal, reads like a manifesto and call to arms for women not taking any shit. #fuckthepatriarchy as always)
Follow Me Akhi by @HKesvani (just been shortlisted for the Orwell longlist - congrats Hussein!)
You Must Be Layla by @yassmin_a (a coming of age children’s book with a wonderful protagonist!)
Planet Omar series by @Zendibble (genuinely one of my fave heartening lower MG series! Great for young kids!)
I read fairly broadly so I jump between fiction and non fiction easily and I read across the spectrum of middle grade / young adult and adult.
So this list will have a bit of everything I’ve read! Lets continue!

Ms. Marvel comic book series by @GWillowWilson (I love this series with all my heart and soul)
No True Believers by @RabiahLumbard
Internment by @sam_aye_ahm
All The Things We Never Said by @YasminwithanE (I loved this book - but dark - but the concept and writing are phenomenal)
Sofia Khan is Not Obliged by @Ayisha_Malik (one of my long standing fave reads! And I rec all of Ayisha’a other books too!)
Secrets of the Henna Girl by @sufiyaahmed (and all her other books! Including her latest kids picture book!)
The Boy at the Back of the Class by @OnjaliRauf (also The Star Outside by Window - everything by this wonderful author - I love everything! Buy it all) Wonderful kids books with topical themes, but the writing is - it just sits in your heart.
Okay I’ll stop now but I really could go on. Maybe I’ll come back and add to this ? I really did come to look for recommendations only not to give any out
