All the stuff about being filial and standing up for what was correct and honourable, and no one stepped in to stop him from being beaten nearly to death, no one stepped in to defend the Wen refugees... What does that mean about lwj's childhood?

Did he see, over and over again, people doing or saying the thing that made them look good rather than actually doing the right thing? Than actually stepping up and helping?

Of course his love language is acts of service, is actually doing for someone what they need

Lqr made sure lwj's physical needs and training were taken care of, but I doubt there was much physical affection or kind words. Lxc is full of kind words but with little power to follow through.

And lxc isn't exactly full of words of affirmation either. Affection and care? Of course, but it's gentle and unassuming; it abides by the rules; it avoids excessive emotion.

Wwx turns up, and you know what he's full of? Words of affirmation and physical affection.

Lwj is *so* alarmed by both, at first. He doesn't even know he needs them and he certainly can't reciprocate, but the entire series can more or less be summed up with lwj learning how to do words of affirmation + physical touch, and wwx learning how to do acts of service
