I will die happy knowing Bakugou would be a great father, because the last thing he would want is for them to feel as distant as he was with his mom /and/ dad.
Uncomfortable to bring up anything because it felt impossible to mantain any semblance of a normal conversation.
Though it’s a challenge for him sometimes, he’d try to listen. He’d be patient and swallow as he psyches himself up as the ebbings of a tantrum quickly approach.
He just doesn’t want a repeat. He doesn’t Kirishima to become some sort of mediator parent like his dad once was. He doesn’t want to wait for some tepid relationship late into adulthood, he wants something good from the start.
And he’s not perfect. He more than often fucks up and his more than sensitive patience flakes up more times than he can count... But he’s quick to apologize and swallow down his pride.
And Mitsuki can see this from the way she sees her grandchildren run up to him, embracing them in this massive bear hug as he sneers with this horrendous snort knowing they did nothing but bother their grandparents.
So while Kirishima is (trying to) putting them in the car Mitsuki crosses her arms from the doorway. “You’ve surprised me.”

“What do you mean?”

She smiles. “Better than I thought.”
Bakugou would bite his cheek, looking back as if to make sure Kirishima was far away enough.
“You.. You were good too.” He grunts, forcing it out from the depths of his chest.
And Mitsuki’s reaction is more than surprised, slack jawed even.
She watches with rapid blinks as they drive away. Masaru approaching her with a confused look as to why she’s still standing there.
“You okay?”

“Yeah.” She huffs. “More than okay.”
