For those who dont know, playlisting is a discovery tool. It won’t get you hot if you ain’t already hot.

Yea you get a couple streams for the 10 days that they decide to keep you in a list — but there’s no magic dust that a playlist sprinkles on your song and get you hot.

It is up to sole discretion of the EDITOR to list the song. It is our job to get the information to editors but we cannot force the add
there’s many reasons why a song doesn’t always get added.

sometimes editors would like to see a song naturally grow on platform. sometimes they don’t see positioning for the song. sometimes artists and managers COMPLETELY ignore best practices ...
as a developing artist trying to get listed, I think it’s important to focus on your BEST songs, have a strong digital plan / story we can communicate to editors and don’t let one miss discourage you from following best practices. Always keep going.
being at a label, I have more barriers to getting songs playlisted than your average artists or manager.

But my success rate is muchhhh higher when I involve artist/label reps, give at least 3 weeks on a song, and some strong digital info to support my pitch.
when you’re indie, maybe you have a relationship where you can get something listed in a days notice - I used to do that once upon a time.

But when you’re in a system, there is framework that makes that particularly difficult. Unless you’re IDK LIL UZI or some shit.
