Just got off the phone to my parents and they’ve both received a phone call from the doctors surgery about my elderly grandparents.
I have three grandparents in the same care home. Two have health problems & have agreed not to be taken to hospital if they get covid-19.

My dad said he felt the person on the phone was trying to pressure him into signing the same document for his mother.
She is of good health & has a decent quality of life.
My dad said he felt pressured but he refused to approve it. 2/5
He contacted the care home, who agreed with his decision, and said they’d had a lot of complaints from the families of other residents who also received this phone call, and also felt they were being pressured. 3/5
Most elderly people will voluntarily sacrifice themselves. That’s just how their generation is. And that’s why it’s important we protect them.
The NHS has been disgustingly underfunded to the point where we now expect our elderly to make up the deficit with their lives 4/5
If the virus reaches that particular care home all 3 of my grandparents, as well as everyone else’s elderly relatives, stand little chance.
It’s Easter weekend. The only protection the elderly have is not getting the virus in the first place. Do your bit & stay at home. 5/5
