. @LGMandelaBarnes and I had a number of conversations with leaders in the faith community and we’ve been encouraged by the many congregations that are taking the Safer at Home order seriously and coming up with creative ways to support each other while following the requirements.
Some of those options have included:
•parking lot services with congregants staying in cars, avoiding person-to-person contact;
•streaming services online; and
•Having small gatherings (fewer than 10 people in each room) with multiple services.
To be clear, we are not asking law enforcement to supervise or take enforcement steps against religious gatherings. Rather, law enforcement has been working hard to help congregations understand the order and take precautions to keep themselves and their members safe.
