We looked into "tip baiting" -- a gross tactic some people are using to entice Instacart workers to pick up their orders with big tips but then taking it away after the delivery is made: https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/09/tech/instacart-shoppers-tip-baiting/index.html">https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/0... w/ @kyurieff
one worker had her tip slashed from $55 to $0. "We always say: No matter what, never trust a tip," said another worker, who had her tip slashed $32 to zero.
while Instacart says the vast majority of people adjust tips upwards or don& #39;t adjust tips at all, it allows people to change tips for up to 3 days after an order.
one of the workers said the company should mandate a 10% tip "that sticks no matter what" on all orders until stay-at-home guidance is lifted and only allow people to tip above that should they choose
One worker had a customer tell her it was "unethical" that she wasn& #39;t able to find toilet paper (!) and updated her tip in the app to $0 after delivery. "I tried my best. A lot of people are detached from the situation going on."
