Reason I know we will prevail is because it’s possible. And I know what we are capable of. I was near death and here I am. Within us individually and together is an infinite reactor of regeneration, recovery, renewal. Survival. The wisdom of that life-giving force will overcome.
This too shall pass. My hope is that I won’t be passing. I’m fine today. My hope is you won’t pass either. But life, the infinite thread of human survival we are part of, prevails. Health and freedom from harm and fear to you who read these words from my heart.
The loneliness of serious illness is something those of us who’ve had cancer forever understand. Those with this new thing, I feel for your isolation, in my own apartness here in my home today. I’m thinking of you.
The reason they said “don’t panic” is they were trying to limit the impact of an outbreak on their wealth while the getting was good. The fiction is actually not how people respond when faced with mortality. Yes. It’s bad. And we are going to find beauty and strength and share it
The answer to how bad will it get is: as bad as it gets. All we have is today. Deal with today. It’s the place where we are alive. I learned that some years back. Here I am. 8 years of days after the cancer was removed from my body, and the abuser from my mind. Survive with me.
To those of you struggling today in the bardo of the virus, Godspeed. We are all right here with you, breathing life and light in your general direction. We welcome you back, when you’re all healed up.
