There will always be a Trump or some other boogieman to scare voters away from this truth.
Americans want a better healthcare system. Americans don't want war. Americans want to solve climate change. Americans want a living wage. Americans don't want lobbyists corrupting DC.

We have seen candidates calling out the rot within our system silenced or destroyed by the Democratic Party establishment.
If you call out this corruption, the party will publicly accuse you of being an asset of Russia, or convince every other candidate to rally against you.

I voted for Hillary Clinton in 2016 because I convinced myself that working with Bernie Sanders in developing the party platform would mean we might get a couple wins.

They'll talk about how they'll "address" climate change and wealth inequality, but will they really?
After they tell their rich donors that "nothing will ever fundamentally change?"

They create this platform to convince you they're on your side because they want your votes. Period.
They rely on your votes. They expect your votes.
And they know that they can shame you into voting for their candidate, because the alternative is a Trump-picked Supreme Court.

It's sad to see lawmakers and former candidates tow the party line if they hope to ever have the glimmer of ever actually passing their legislation or implementing their ideas.
