Flexed to Extended Method of Receiving the Low Strike

When using this method an emphasis needs to be placed on proper timing, staying below the baseball, and elbow leverage. Examples below are SL/CB's dropping out of strike zone.
Miss by Grandal. Notice premature upward movement of glove, forcing him to drag/chase to the pitch. Leading to pitch traveling out of strike zone before having chance to receive. Am sure speed up of secondary set up also plays a role, having head/eye movement during delivery.
Breakdown. Glove working Up, Down, Up. Getting beat to the spot. Compare to the breakdown following.
Ball crossing plate at same height as pitch above, glove work is the difference between ball and strike. On time and using momentum to keep a strike, a strike.
Flexed to full extend in order to receive ball before dropping below strike zone. Working below pitch with thumb under. If utilizing an extended to flexed method, ball must be caught in same location, just different glove work.
Have been hearing the cue "getting top spin on a ping pong ball" when dealing with proper timing. Good way of promoting staying below the baseball and using momentum through catch.
Successful receiving all ties back to confidence and comfort behind the plate. Confidence grows with preparation. Scared = Slow and unprepared. Confident = Quick, fluid, and efficient. You control the game.
