respect and support your friends/significant others/children who run their own business! it takes a lot out of us to keep up with the demands of making and selling your own stuff! A LONNNGGG thread:

for example: I have two mediums. Wire wrapping and resin. Wire wraps take anywhere from 15 mins for minis to 3 hours for suns and mountains. I also have to find and order cabs, keep cabs and my wire stocked 24/7, and upkeep my tools. also I injure my hands a lot with wire

resin takes a lot longer. I have to warm the resin up, prep my table with silicone mats and clean my mixing cups, measure and mix the resin, add colors/glitter, pour into the mold, pop bubbles. pieces with layers and vinyl take longer-

I have to design and cut the vinyl, weed the extra, transfer it to the cured resin and usually do the resin mixing two to three more times. After it’s cured, I have to demold, sand, drill and add hardware and any decoration to the piece.

I have to keep resin, flowers, glitter, colorants, mixing sticks, bezels, molds all stocked and ready. also grow my own flowers. I have to take care of that garden, go out and harvest flowers, and use either my silica gel or a microwave press to dry them.

That was just the actual process of the ART. Behind that, I have to constantly advertise. Be active in group chats to support other artists. Answer messages daily. Try and try to grow my following so my art can reach more people.

Once update day comes, I photograph and edit all of my pieces for my site that I designed. I have to upload and fill in info for each one individually. Save them and then make them available on time. Answer more people who have questions about pieces.

Now it’s shipping time. I have to make labels for every package. Then make everything neat and pretty and safely pack it in the mailer. Take it out to the box. Send out tracking numbers. And then do it all again the next week.

There are so many artists out there who don’t have the support or respect of people close to them because “ART ISNT A JOB”. It is. It’s a lot of work and requires so much dedication and passion. It is a job. So be there for the artist and small biz owner in your life!!
