I do 80% research and 20% medicine. There is a tiny voice in my head that whispers that research is just intellectual masturbation and I would do more good for the world doing medicine. Shutting down only the research for the virus is not making that voice any quieter.

For the market purists there, the fact that salaries are 2x higher if you don’t do research clearly shows which the market values more also.
