The initial side spin component would make the ball run .013 ft before gyro spin converting to positive side spin takes over and carries the ball back to x=0 while crossing the plate.

I think the best part of this is, since the the ball ended up horizontally where its initial trajectory said it would, it would be said to have had no movement in the x direction. Kind of a distance vs displacement situation.
