In one of the chapters, Jeonghan revealed himself to be someone who is not from the town, and he will never be.

How come? Why is he so invested in saving this town if he wasn't part of it anyway?

Supporting this theory, you can evidently notice Jeonghan being desperate to finish the ritual. Why?

either:
a) will somehow profit from this
b) revenge
c) he was somehow forced/blackmailed into

"You've taken him away from me as well" — Connecting this to Jeonghan saying that he will "never be" part of the village, maybe he was separated from her?

This supports reasons a and b. He probably wants to redo the past OR get revenge for it if he is related #SVT_DevilsHour

As per reason C, however, Joshua's part comes in. The authors have emphasized the Jeonghan isn't the only one with a mask. What if Joshua was part of this plan all along?

Jeonghan and Joshua seem to defend each other all the time. e.g.:

Notice how everything in this au seems to come in pairs— jun and minghao; the twins; wonwoo and vernon— thus, one person couldn't have done this alone. Thus, we're left with two suspects: Jeonghan and Joshua. A doer and a thinker.

Culprit is most probably leaning towards the doer's side as the thinker is more of a mastermind.

Who did it? Jeonghan.
Who was behind it? Joshua.

Joshua might have told Jeonghan that he will be able to meet his family again or something if Han does exactly what he says. Ergo, reward (reason A)

OR..... Joshua threatened Jeonghan to do these otherwise the latter won't be able to do or get something. They must've had a prior obligation. Ergo, force or fear (reason C)

OR..... they're both sons of the sisters. Though I don't think they'd burn the mayor's wife, unless she was burned before the husband became mayor.

Thus, they both have reasons to do such thing.

Don't know if this thread helped, but I have found my peace of mind from it. I voted for Jeonghan, by the way. He had more plausible reasons as to why he would do such thing....maybe.

Will either rejoice or regret in 15 hours, so let's just see how it pans out. #SVT_DevilsHour
