2020 TE rookie: Thaddeus Moss, LSU
Moss was an integral part of the Tigers offense, often times being Burrow& #39;s safety blanket under pressure.... but he& #39;s more than just a checkdown guy. Let& #39;s get to the film....

Let& #39;s start with his blocking...
- understanding zone blocking rules -
Moss is lined up at the wing at the bottom of your screen. He has a double team with the right tackle up to the LB. Moss does a good job with getting up to the LB to seal him off.

- angles on cut blocks -
Moss& #39;s responsibility is a cut block on the back side. He& #39;s got a good first step to cut off the LB at his knees and get him on the ground. This helps seal the backside for a potential cutback for CEH.

- oklahoma drill -
for those that aren& #39;t familiar, "oklahoma drill" is a camp favorite to determine strength. Moss shows his strength here by stopping #16 in his tracks, that essentially provides the cutback lane opening for CEH to gain a chunk of yardage.

- short, choppy feet -
A basic fundamental of blocking, this is well done. You see no wasted movement, nor is his first step backwards. An explosive first step and then control his feet into short choppy motions, that opens up a big hole for a long gain.

- take the defender where he wants to go -
executed perfectly. This is a stretch play to the left. Moss& #39;s responsibility is the furthest outside defender on LOS. He takes a good angle, riding the safety towards the sideline to open up a seam.

*Receiving*
Moss is the checkdown option on this play, but he has the presence to pick up speed and get open when he sees a hole in zone.

- sell the run -
Moss executes selling the run perfectly and flips his hips to get out in the flat. Pay attention to how he has hands up and ready for the ball. Coaches preach this all the time - get your hands up and ready when you& #39;re open.

- turn and get upfield -
This is a timing route practiced all the time. It& #39;s a low throw and Moss does a good job to keep his balance. Once he does, he explodes to get upfield and get the 1st down

- seam stretcher -
This is one of my favorite plays while watching his tape. Moss avoids press coverage to keep his balance and takes it to the house. He didn& #39;t inherit his HOF father& #39;s speed, but a case can certainly be made that he has his hands...

- body position -
A perfect display of body position and athleticism. Moss goes up and gets this catch.... "making a play" - how often do we here coaches say that? Job well done.

- body control -
tremendous display of soft hands and body control along the sideline. Touchdown.

- adjusting routes and steer back to the football -
Play is broken down, and Moss has the wherewithal to adjust his route and come back to the ball all while gaining separation in the process. This game showed the best of Moss& #39;s talents.

Overall, I think the future is bright for Thaddeus Moss in the NFL. His blend of strength and athleticism is only going to grow when he gets in an NFL organization and offseason program. Soft hands, decent speed, and underestimated athleticism. Don& #39;t be afraid to invest in him.
