The internet is whatever you want it to be for you.

It's your avenue to take a swipe at #IkoroduLuckyDube . It's a channel to build a massive following. It's also the perfect platform to engage the fans you already have.

One thing central to all of these is CONTENT.
We can argue about the differences between CONTENT and GOOD CONTENT. However our NPFL clubs are seriously slacking in both.

Seeing how well their counterparts are using these platforms, it's more confusing, the reasons why they are not putting out content on these channels
Let's talk about examples, using Twitter as a case study.

At a time when more people are spending their time consuming content on social media,

- Table toppers, @PlateauUnited have only tweeted TWICE this month https://twitter.com/Undisputed_Jsam/status/1232610236877410304?s=20
- @RiversUnitedFC have left their 39k+ followers in a limbo and have not sent a single tweet since March 22
- The most recent tweet on @lobistarsfc's timeline was sent on the 8th of March
- The last tweet visible on @RangersIntFC's TL is dated September 26, 2019
- @EnyimbaFC's last tweet was on April 6 https://twitter.com/EnyimbaFC/status/1247070144796467201?s=20

These are top five sides in the country, according to the 2019/2020 edition of the NPFL table.

There are several things you make from these examples. Among them is how important these clubs take their channels.
The dearth of the creation of consumable content (graphic, audio, video, written) on these channels is directly proportional to the importance associated with them.

It also shows just how much they rate the fans that follow them.
The Twitter verification + the thousands of followers would put any other entity on its toes, have it churning out content on an hourly basis, trying to spread its gospel, which will in turn convert the unbelievers.

But our dear clubs are doing the exact opposite as cited above.
It's fair to say that these clubs are also contributing their own quota to the disinterest of the average Nigerian football fan in the league.

Sounds like a tall claim?

Will you rather stick with a Twitter account that hasn't tweeted in months or...
will you rather spend your time re-living old memories via the Twitter account of another club?

Your guess is as good as mine.

The football scene may quiet now because of COVID19. However, it is the best time to rekindle the love of Nigerian football in the heart of fans...
in the country and around the globe.

If you can, employ the services of a social media manager (coincidentally, I can help with recommendations, if you don't mind). Give them your content and let them watch their magic.

It is assured that a number of things will happen:
1. Your highly coveted fan base will grow larger as fans increase their interaction with your content
2. NPFL will become more visible and will entice fans to wonder about what is going on in the division
3. Give it time and your gospel will win a number of converts.
Please, for the sake of the love of Nigerian content, revive your social media content.

Put out quizzes (attach giveaways if you can)
Post more videos of memorable moments
A short infographic/challenge can spice things up too
Contests between fans is not bad too.
All in all, we want our Nigerian football brands to dominate the social media space too.
