Nig is the 6th largest producer in the world. Southwest oyo, kwara, Niger, Nasarawa, Abuja& Kogi are the highest producing state. Nig generate 17.7billion from Cashew export in 2013. Only 20% of cashew get processed in Nig. 30% are lost due to non availability of processed plant.

Do you know Vietnam rakes in 3billion dollars from Cashew processing alone? India is 2.5b$.cashrw alone account for 10% of Nig non oil export.
cashew is virtually grown in all states of Nigeria.
But does well in the southern region and North Central.

This is the current cashew belt in Nig.

We do not have industrial cashew nuts production in nig.only small scale. Exporting the cashew seed is great cheating as the processed cashew nuts brings 4 times foreign exchange than just the seed alone.

Fact! Unprocessed cashew is sold for 1200$ while processed cashew goes for 10,000$ per ton.

I contacted an Indian company that set up industrial cashew processing plant for rate. It will cost 124 million naira to install one in Nig.

In 4 years you'd have paid off the investment. If we can industrialized farming we'd forget oil.
