"The virus does not discriminate based on country, faith, or race. Neither should any individual." @johncyangdc. @AAAJ_AAJC is monitoring hate incidents at http://StandAgainstHate.org  #covid19
Next speaker: Dr. Kuber Ghimirie. Dr. Kuber was selected to come to the US via the diversity visa program. He did his residency in PA and has been working as a hospitalist for the last six years in North Carolina with his wife and two children.
"It has been both exciting and nerve-wracking" to be on the front lines of the response to #COVID19 says Dr. Ghimirie. He continues to say that luckily his community has not seen as many patients as other communities.
What has been your biggest challenge on the frontlines? Sam Yu of @nakasec asks Dr. Ghimirie says it has been the shifting guidance from health authorities. But Dr. Ghimirie says they have been proactive in their response. Says it's important to protect all allied-health workers.
Our next speaker is Josephine Biclar who immigrated to the United States through the family immigration program in 2010. She has been a home caregiver ever since. @domesticworkers @pwcscorg
"We are not simple caregivers, we also risk our lives." Josephine Biclar of @pwcscorg speaks about home health workers who also deserve protection and economic support from the government.
Home health workers have to buy protective gear with their own personal funds, don't have clear guidance on how to protect themselves while providing care for their patients.

Josephine asks why caregivers aren't included in #COVID19 relief packages.
Thrilled to hear from the next speaker
@RepJudyChu from California. "we know responding to, containing, and recovering from coronavirus will require a whole of country response... its more important now than ever to protect our immigrant workers."
Rep. Judy Chu highlights the disturbing increase of attacks on Asian-Americans and people perceived to have Asian ancestry.
Rep. Chu has cosponsored legislation that will halt public charge rule, extends expiring work authorization, and make sure that immigrants that file taxes are eligible for the 1,200 case payment.
