While 2020 marks the 75th anniversary of the end of WWII, it also marks the 75th anniversary of the death of two german resisters who were executed by the Nazis on April 9, 1945.

Today, it's my will and duty, as a German to honor
Georg Elsner and Dietrich Bonhöffer.
These people, who tried to stop Hitler by all means, are the heroes in our collective german memory, our role models. That's why we resist early. That's why we were begging Americans to hit the streets to have Trump removed.
Germans tend to recognize fascists early on:
It seems worth noting that the german resistance were mainly brave civilians. And although Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg lead the plot to kill Hitler in 1944, the resistance within the German military was, in overall terms, tiny: 200 to 300 people were involved in the plot.
Read the experiences of the last remaining survivors, who were children when they were sent to the concentration camps.

"Icek was separated from his dad by a Nazi. 'He cried, he wanted to be with his father. But the German said: 'no, you (go) over there'."

Sounds familiar?
I want to close with another german resistor, Pastor Martin Niemöller.
