I honestly believe covid19 has been with us in Nigeria since December. It's only natural considering the amount of steady traffic between China & Nigeria. Add to this the fact that I had to handle a lot of patients around mid/late January with bizarre respiratory issues,
Culminating in myself having my own severe respiratory issue from same mid January that disappeared after 2 weeks. Started with a sore throat, then a fever, then severe dry cough that lasted about 10 days before it started to get better. The after effects still leaves me with
Occasional chest muscle spasms & possible costochondritis.
I've mulled over this in my mind alone until I had a discussion with a cardiologist some day & he said things that mirrored my thoughts exactly without me having said anything first. Also said he had severe respiratory
issues around the same time himself to the point he was scared he had T.B; plus also confirmed he handled numerous of such cases around the same time.
I listened to an interview from the head of NCDC where he said the cases in Nigeria are majorly mild to moderate symptoms
and this leads me to strongly believe that the insults our immune systems have had to withstand over time may just be playing a positive role for us in all of this.

Due to these strong suspicions, I put out this poll a few days ago👇👇 https://twitter.com/urchilla01/status/1245988058253721602?s=19
While the poll was ongoing, someone pointed me towards a tweet from someone in the U.S. opining the same thing 👇👇 & the responses under the tweet strengthened my suspicions.

I'd post links to a few choice responses under the tweet 👇👇
I only wish there were enough test kits available to randomly test people who categorically had these symptoms around these times & presented at clinics; maybe it'd help shed a bit more light on how long we've been dealing with this.
Even though from the tweet links I'll post,
the original author subsequently tested negative for antibodies, studies I've availed myself of over the past week, some of which show low level of antibodies in recovered patients hence difficulties in producing a vaccine, makes me believe that maybe, just maybe, following
recovery, these antibodies gradually wear out of the system. This would mean that even if a vaccine is developed, it may have to be a yearly vaccine like the flu shot.
Nonetheless, please follow all NCDC guidelines; continue to maintain social distancing, wash your hands & sanitize as often as you have any form of contact, sitchyour damn ass at home, wear face masks if you have to go out for any reason.

May the forces be with us.

Another thing that continues to boggle my mind is this; the U.K. is suddenly starting to flatten the curve. This coincides with this period when temperature is starting to rise in the U.K. (per weather).

A close observation of the curve in Italy also shows a pattern of this
virus being at its deadliest over the periods when Italy had low temperatures.
I observed also that Spain continues to struggle to flatten their curve; is it a coincidence that the temperatures there have continued to remain relatively low over the past 2 weeks?
You could use this link to observe weather patterns in different countries over different month periods

In light of this, my question remains, what effect do temperatures have on this virus? How does it relate to Africa & ?low incidence of #covid19 cases?

The more I research & find, the more I'll update this thread.
