From one counsellor to anyone who needs to hear it, if you're feeling overwhelmed with negative, sad, or angry thoughts, remember that for many people, thoughts are connected to feelings and actions. (1/?)
Sometimes it can be helpful to notice your thoughts and work to challenge them, especially if they're causing you to feel sad, angry, overwhelmed, etc. Notice the thought and work to challenge it.

The "safe at home not stuck at home" is a nice example of that. (2/?)
Obviously, you're the boss of you, so you can think however you want with whatever thoughts are helpful for you, but if you're feeling overwhelmed, maybe take a minute to notice your thoughts.

Take one and challenge it/replace it with something more positive. (3/n)
Notice how, as you challenge and replace thoughts with a more positive spin, the way you feel will likely start to change as well. Instead of feeling overwhelmed by negative thoughts, you might start to feel more grounded. Your actions tend to follow your thoughts/feelings. (4/?)
If doing that feels like it's working for you, look up cognitive behavioural therapy. It's a very effective way of dealing with sadness, worry, and more.

If it feels overwhelming to monitor your thoughts, then that's ok too. You do what works for you and look after you. <3
