Very proud to put my name to this joint letter calling on the Home Office to suspend #NRPF during #COVIDー19.

For the families I work with day in, day out, there is little safety whilst this hostile policy is in place. Personally, I would like to see it abolished for good. https://twitter.com/Project17UK/status/1248266434188279810
I am sure every signatory would like to see the policy go for good, as all in our own ways we seem the harm it causes.

However, a suspension at this time is pertinent because of the increased harm it is having in light of #COVIDー19.
The government support response in light of #COVIDー19 is built on existing social security structures, the very structures that families we work with are ordinarily excluded from. In short, there is no safety need responsive to the needs of these families.
This is amplified by a contracting of services ordinarily used to keep families afloat whilst longer term outcomes are sought during this time. Creating a climate that is increasingly hostile and miserable and having a grave impact on those subject to immigration control.
Please share, talk about and help us and all organisations raise the profile of this issue at this current time. It is so, so important.
