I would like to go to a cafe. Not any particular one. I’d like to just be visiting a neighborhood and find a cafe on yelp. I’d like to ask about their WiFi and have someone point out the obvious sign that I missed. I’d like to be delighted by a nice barista and some foam art.

I’d like to meet up with some friends to watch a basketball game at a bar. I’d like to order nachos. I’d like to yell at the TV. At commercials I’d like to ask my friends gossipy questions. I’d like to order a second round of nachos. I’d like to ride my bike home afterward.

I’d like to go to a street festival. I’d like to stroll around not intending to buy anything but maybe buying something. I’d like to see a decent band playing and little kids dancing wildly. I’d like to sit on the curb and eat some corn. I’d like to run into someone unexpectedly.

I'd like to go to the library. I'd like to use the computer terminal with an ancient operating system to look up a book. I'd like to write down the call number with a stubby golf pencil on scrap of paper. I'd like to touch the plastic laminate covers as I look for what I want.
