Thinking A LOT about what I can learn from this experience. Before this, I sometimes felt guilty about sending students off on self-guided, technology-based research or creation projects. I felt like I wasn't doing enough "real teaching."
Now, I'm feeling like I prepared them. I'm wondering how much MORE of this I can do. I'm thinking about how much kids have had to rely on themselves and their technical abilities.
I'm wondering what the beginning of next year will look like. Will more teachers introduce tech as part of their beginning-of-the-year routines? Will we focus more on how to develop student confidence, competence, and autonomy while using tech?
I have so many ideas about how to create this in my STEM classroom. Is anyone else feeling/thinking this?
@engageducate @teachmsfadden this thread kind of hits on your question! I will say--my thinking changes every day. When I tweeted this I was thinking, "okay, my kids are prepared!" now I'm wishing I had given them even more!
