As a rapper you don't wait till track 5 or 6 to get your audience glued to your album, your Intro should do the needful as to set a pace in keeping the listeners awake at first take..

Here are my Top 10 Intro's of all time since the 20's......

🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶THREAD🎶🎶🎶🎶
10... J.Cole - Too deep for the Intro (Friday Night Lights, 2010)

* After Cole got signed to ROC nation, this was his first tape, it was initially supposed to be an album but the label delayed the release so Cole released it as a Mixtape.... The Intro is sick
9. TI - 56 Bars (Paper Trail, 2008)

After his 3rd album "TI vs TIP" didn't buzz as expected due to another new southern rapper invoke(Lil-Wayne) /Gun charges back in 07 the King of the South came back with a solid stand with his 4th album Paper Trail dem intro is TIP being TIP
8. Fabulous - The Way (Loso's Way)

This Punchliner has dropped notable classics and Albums b4 this, but his Fifth studio album came with a more sophisticated loso, a bundle of rewind worthy punchlines, some cleaver crime stories with no other intro deserving like "The Way".
7. Lil- Wayne - Tha Mobb (Tha Carter II, 2005)

During the prime days of Weezy, for me personally Carter II is one of my favorite Lil Wayne tape. The Intro "Tha Mobb" is a metaphorical weezy rapping on a soulful beat getting you ready for tracks like "Receipt", "Fireman" "Oh No".
6. Kendrick Lamar - Sharane a.k.a Master Splinters Daughter (GKMC)

It is glaring and no denying that Kendrick is one the best Story telling rapper of the last Decade, this intro solidly laid the blueprint for the album overarching concept... The Prequel to Kung fu Kenny.
Here are some notable mentions before I drop the Top 5.

* Ghostface Killah - Nutmeg (Supreme Clientele, 2000)

* Rich Gang - Givenchy ( Tha Tour Life, 2014)...

....... I will continue when there is more interaction..
5. Jay Z - Intro ( The Dynasty : Roc La Familia, 2000)

JIGGA has been consistent with beats from Just Blaze, a mellatonic paino with lines like "got a strange way of seeing life like am stevie wonder with beads under the do rag, intuition is there, even with my vision impaired".
4. Drake - Tuscan Leather ( NWTS,2013)

"How many time is this nigga spending on the intro"? This intro sets the tone on one of Drake's most lyrical album over a Whitney Houston sampled beat without a chorus.. 🔥
3. Kanye West - Good Morning (Graduation,2007)

After his sophomore album "Late Registration" 2yrs later YE dropped his 3rd LP, this was the period Ye started gaining commercial appeal, with an intro like "Good Morning" you will love to play through.
2. 50 Cent - What Up Gangsta (GRODT, 2003)

This very guy needs no introduction whatsoever, he can easily be number 1 on this list, sold a million unit off his debut album " get rich or die trying" in its 1st week with the intro been an anthem for 20's gangster rap.... 🔥🔥🔥
1. Meek Mill - Dream and Nightmare (Dream and Nightmares ,2012)

It's funny seeing Meek mill top my list right... Never have I seen a rapper as hungry and ready to eat like meek on the Intro to his debut album.. I used to pray for times like this, to rhyme like this".
