I just woke up and have the day off work today maybe I should make a thread of my controversial lover opinions

Ok first of all Lover is probably my least favorite Taylor album ....... like out of all 7 ........... once the re-records drop and the vocals on debut and fearless snap all of our necks I’m about to make like track one and forget that she existed

Speaking of track one IFTYE slaps and y’all pay this song dust I truly don’t get it - it has some of the best vocals on the whole album and it’s a cute lil bop

When lover first dropped all I had to say about cruel summer was “good tour song” and tbh the song grew on me a little but it is still not something I’m listening to in my free time like ever will I be scrolling through my music and think omg maybe I should listen to cruel summer

The man ................... exists

There are so many songs on this album that truly are just THERE like they don’t do anything special they just be sitting on the tracklist like

Lover is and always will be top tier on the album - the writing is good, the production is gorgeous, I just wish her vocals weren’t ..... like that ........ idk how much I’ve talked about it on the tl but I hate the breathy falsetto she goes for on most of the album

The archer is mid tier at best it’s not bad but again it’s one of those that doesn’t really do anything for me it’s just kind of there

ITHK is completely ruined by the vocals I’m so sorry I absolutely hate how Taylor sounds on this song if she had stuck to her lower register on this album this thread would’ve been a different story

I bopped to ITHK at first but the more I listened to it the more I hated it :////

Y’all are gonna drag me for this but all my close moots know that I do not fuck with miss americana I don’t think the production on a song has ever ruined it so thoroughly for me than this one whew and that’s saying something because DBATC exists but we’ll get to that later :)
