I& #39;m seeing an awful lot of tweets at the moment about runners not giving people enough space - as someone who is still running through all this I& #39;m actively worried about it - that very soon I may not be able to run because other people weren& #39;t considerate...
This is how I do it, and I hope others will too:
* Run on quiet residential streets that are not on major traffic routes, with wide pavements and houses set back from the street line.
* Stay away from roads with food and other open shops on them.
...
* When I& #39;m coming up to someone, I always move into the road if it& #39;s safe to do so - in fact, I generally, run in the middle of the road all the time now. By choosing my route based on the first criteria, this is generally easier.
...
* If I can& #39;t move into the road, I stop running and turn away from the people walking past, giving them as much room as possible.
* Stay away from parks unless they& #39;re really quiet, or I& #39;m willing to run on the grass, well away from other people.
...
And the whole time, I bear in mind that I& #39;m the one who& #39;s huffing and puffing, not the people I meet. It& #39;s up to ME to protect them and make them feel safe.

No time or training schedule is worth putting other people at risk, or making them feel like they are.
