Today we were promised a visit to a hospital and boy was it promising!

For context, that’s Jinyintan Hospital in Wuhan, “ground zero” of the coronavirus outbreak and the only specialist infectious diseases hospital in the entire Hubei province.
There was promised face time with Zhang Jingyu, director of Jinyintan. That’s him there behind a table covered in medical cloth, which has been helpfully put behind a cordon set up using queue poles.
Social distancing at press conferences do tend to work better if you have actual chairs to mark the spot, rather than having people jostle.

Also might be good idea not to have it under the midday sun.
There is a chance there could be sporadic clusters of infections in the future in organisations or even companies, but zero chance of an outbreak the way we’ve seen, Dr Zhang said. #COVID19 #Wuhan
Their biggest worry is now patients who hardly exhibit symptoms but still test positive for the virus in oral swabs

“In future people might say we are wrong but we would rather err on the side of caution and keep the patient here. It might be excessive but it’s safer.” #COVID19
45 minutes later, that was it. Doctor was ushered away (he seemed happy to chat more but his minders weren’t too keen) and we were herded onto buses.

We did not even enter any of the hospital buildings.
