Since last evening, 591 new #COVID19 cases have been reported--the second highest 24-hour increase so far. The highest increase was three days ago on April 6, when 704 new cases were reported

Since 8 a.m. today, Uttar Pradesh (UP) has detected the most cases (49), followed by Madhya Pradesh (30) & Haryana (22), per MoHFW_India’s latest (5 p.m., Apr 9) update. Telangana & Jharkhand detected 15 & 9 cases today, resp.
Maharashtra continues to have the most cases (1,135), followed by Tamil Nadu (738), Delhi (669) & Telangana (442).
All 3 deaths were reported from Madhya Pradesh, taking its toll to 16 deaths--the second highest nationwide and the same as Gujarat. At 72, Maharashtra has the most #COVID19 deaths.
Mizoram, which has had only 1 confirmed case, has not reported another case in 2 weeks to April 9, per available data. Overall, 5 northeastern states--Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Manipur, Tripura--have reported cases. Across India, 31 states & UTs have.

Hyderabad has identified #COVID19 hotspots for lockdown to contain spread, after UP & Delhi sealed districts and hotspots yesterday. Hyderabad had 161 cases as per the April 8 state health dept update
