Emergency long-distance learning update, day 4:
I’m seeing more families logging in & trying the activities. It seems the flexibility of time/choice of lesson/choice of response is working well.
I’m pondering ways to keep it relevant (responsive to students) v. novelty of tasks.
Novelty is easier when you’re planning discreet activities (I’ve been creating 3 a day, diverse topics, building on ideas explored in class b4 break).
But novelty doesn’t build knowledge the way revising ideas, revising, reflecting does.
Just thoughts I have as I plan...
Like this here is a case for repetitive, reiterative plans.
Here’s a response from YP, who started fennegreek seeds after I posted my lentil seed video on Monday. She’s creating a daily journal with her mom. This is so rich! And so many more are growing various lentils, seeds. 😍
Forgot to add: permission was granted to share (I always ask).
Her comment to mom about what she noticed:
“(Y)said a funny thing it’s like a wings carrying number 1 ,So I explained her about sprouts.”
I love that. Sharing that (& more as they come) back in 🌱lesson next week.
