I hope that Biden has a plan to deal with ten million+ people who just lost their jobs and health-care. Trump is really really good at appealing to disaffected people for whom the system isn't working. So was Bernie. Biden's base has always been people who are doing fine

In 1932 about 6 million Germans had no work and were angry and frustrated. Someone came along and told them a story about who was responsible for that, and it was a compelling story

Biden's story has been, "everything's fine except for the joker in charge". That was never true, but it's far more obvious to far more people now

And of course the groundwork is already being laid that the shutdown is the fault of "the Democrats", somehow. It doesn't have to make sense, it just has to be repeated enough to make it true

Oh, and if you got sick? That's the fault of the Chinese, and also foreigners in general

When I started this thread I said "ten million", we're actually up to 16 million now. 10% of the US is without work (and that's just official numbers, which are always an undercount)
