QB THREAD:

I like all 4 of the top QBs. None are guaranteed, all of them have warts. But, it’s about risk vs reward, upside, potential, etc.

Burrow has a certain swag about him that you rarely see. Typically it’s the swag of the elite. Last year, everything about his game..
(Except arm strength) reminded me so much of Aaron Rodgers. Dude is very athletic and was dropping absolute dimes all over the field, flat footed, on the run, didn’t matter.

Big risk with Burrow — he was clearly a 1 year wonder.
Tua — the most accurate college passer I’ve ever seen.

Big risks - health. Injuries upon injuries. Apparently so many injuries that Bama covered up some. Also, plays small.
Herbert - big, strong arm, athletic.

Risks - upside and potential. Didnt have the elite spotlight games that you typically see from the elite QBs.
Love - insane arm can throw at any angle. True gunslinger of this class. Uber confident, believes he’s the best on the field.

Risks — down 2019 caused doubts. People won’t look at 2018. Played on horrible team caused him to force balls, make wrong reads. Need to continue to
develop in areas, specifically anticipation.
Back to Tua — people will say this and that QB had a higher % so, he’s not the most accurate. What I’m saying when I say “he’s the most accurate QB ive ever seen”, I mean... he literally threw seeds and hit guys square between the numbers more than any QB I’ve seen. Dimes....
between the numbers, in stride.

But man, go back and watch him vs Clemson in 2019. The pressure Brent Venables applies messed with Tuas game big time.

Tua is a rhythm passer. Needs to play in a quick, timing based Offense. The system matters with Tua.
Of all these QBs, Tua is the one that most needs a specific system to be successful.

Of all 4, nobody has the upside of Jordan Love. 6’4, 225, true gunslinger. Can move. Dude thinks his nuts hang to his knees. But, he’s raw. It’s a risk.

Love needs to go somewhere that he..
can sit for a year and watch. Learn. Observe. Mentally process.

Herbert is more ready than people realize. I also think he has more upside than people realize. He was in a bad system for him and his skill set w/ no weapons. But the question will always be.. where was his...
big national stage moment? There’s a lot that goes in to that, I seem to think the kid is as just in a tough spot. Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s not the best of the bunch. Tremendous kid and teammates battle for him.
Circling back to Burrow, the guy was Aaron Rodgers for me last year. He doesn’t have that arm strength, which could be an issue in the NFL, but his confidence was off the charts. He also threw just absolutely incredible balls. Jaw dropping, honestly. He was a true champ ..
A guy willing to take on all challengers. Teams and players have wilted against Alabama and Clemson the past 5 years and he made both those teams bend the knee. He was awesome.
So, I want to make it clear, I would be happy with any of the 4. But, none of these guys are guarantees. They all have risks. As I mentioned, I usually fall on the side of healthy & upside in situations like this. It’s why my personal rankings are:

Burrow
Love
Herbert
Tua
Tua makes me the most nervous of all, by far. He was in a QBs dream world, a heaven. All 5 stars OL in front of him, all 5 star WRs to throw too, all 5 star RBs to hand off too... still couldn’t EVER stay healthy. Hurt. All. The. Time.

That’s bad. Because we should all be ..
