#Dubai press conference begins FYI. https://twitter.com/DubaiOneTV/status/1248234300006256644
HE Humaid Al Qatami (DHA): "The time it takes for someone to recover from #coronavirus depends on their pre-existing conditions, immunity etc.

"[We have found that it takes] one week to 30 days for someone to recover from #COVID19."
(Please note I am only sharing quotes that are "new". Lot of stuff discussed so far, we already know)

DHA: "[Regarding impact of disinfection] we started with a few hours then moved to 24 hours - the main aim of this was to enforce distancing between people."
DHA: "The sterilisation will have a positive impact on reducing transmission of the virus. Because the disinfection keeps people [indoors and] away from each other."
Al Bayan's EIC asked about the status of blood banks in Dubai. DHA: "In Feb/March, we welcomed approx. 8,300 donors (additional checks are being made)", so I assume that blood banks are okay atm.
Great question by one journo: When are we expected to go back to normal life?

Answer: "We are continuously monitoring the situation and hoping that social distancing reduces cases, not just here in the UAE, but the rest of the world.

"We hope to be back to normal life soon."
TBH, this seems like a pre-planned summary of all that has been reported so far. I don't think we're going to hear anything "new" new.

Figures not being disclosed, despite Qs (total Dubai cases, fines etc). They prob don't want to draw comparisons; would open a can of worms.
Take the mick all you want about KT, but it's their EIC who has highlighted how people are in positions but cannot afford to pay rent etc.

"Dubai is in contact with all the embassies to keep up to date when airports open. In terms of humanitarian causes, we are helping."
He also asked what people living in rooms with a lot of people should do.
