Many Dubliners know the original keystones of Carlisle (O'Connell) Bridge were re-erected on Sir John Rogerson's Quay, but INCREDIBLY almost the entire original balustrade survives at Clonturk House, Ormond Road, Drumcondra. Go and marvel (within 2km...) at its 1790s silhouette.
The original balusters required supplementing with cast-iron additions, made by 'CLARKE, DUBLIN'.
Edward Smyth's ebullient keystones were transplanted to these late Victorian warehouses on Sir John Rogerson's Quay.
