Many Dubliners know the original keystones of Carlisle (O& #39;Connell) Bridge were re-erected on Sir John Rogerson& #39;s Quay, but INCREDIBLY almost the entire original balustrade survives at Clonturk House, Ormond Road, Drumcondra. Go and marvel (within 2km...) at its 1790s silhouette.
The original balusters required supplementing with cast-iron additions, made by & #39;CLARKE, DUBLIN& #39;.
Edward Smyth& #39;s ebullient keystones were transplanted to these late Victorian warehouses on Sir John Rogerson& #39;s Quay.
