I'm unbelievably happy that they changed to the new Sonic design ( a little conspiracy about this at end of thread ), the movie definitely was better with it.
The plot was decent. The writing was a little weird & cringe in some parts. The visuals were good.

I was presently surprised when this scene came up. Pretty neat to see the filmmakers add an overall subtle meme reference into this movie.

I'm not well versed on my Sonic lore, is it cannon that he doesn't like mushrooms?
He mentioned how much he hated them several times in the movie, and I'm not sure if this was a subtle dig at Mario considering that Sonic is basically Sega's Mario competitor after all.

This scene legit made me chuckle a bit, the sharp cut to this super cute fluffy Sonic was pretty unexpected & it didn't play out too long.

Going back to my writing complaints, overall I feel like the script was pretty decent, but a few lines of dialog seemed a bit awkward and a few jokes / scenes were a little cringe for me.
However, I have to let that go because I'm pretty sure this movie is targeting children.

No matter what lines he was given, however, Jim Carrey was once again a fucking fantastic character to watch.
He always puts so much energy & fun & life & love into his goofy characters. Really just a fun thing to see!

It's just, looking at the final Sonic design, like, really? How the fuck did they fuck up the first one so fucking bad? Like... Fuck man! Look at this shit!

1) Lots of animators & inside people have to be involved to keep this "covered up"
2) I'm pretty sure a normal Sonic trailer would've gotten plenty of attention on it's own
