When the medical director of NHS Fife says there's no policy of DNR/DNACPR for Covid 19 patients, had it been any other health board, i'd probably believe it, but not him and certainly not NHS Fife. Why?
Because twice I've personally witnessed DNACPR forms going on my mother's file without consultation and twice NHS Fife failed to speak with the family beforehand. The second time, they actively lied about its existence.
So when I read that man denying such claims, I have no choice but to be rather sceptical. Then say to any fife resident with anyone who ends up in an elderly care ward of NHS Fife, Ask directly if there has been a DNACPR put on your loved ones file, because they....
....have a history of playing fast a loose with rules surrounding DNACPR forms (something I raised with the health secretary in December 2018 and Feb 2019), namely, a history of no discussion with family about them.
