Today is 100 days since the WHO was notified of a “pneumonia like” virus appearing in China.
In the days that have since passed, the world has become a very different place.
Many of our loved ones have lost their lives & families have been devastated - including mine.

On the 13th of March my father tested positive for #COVID19 and just 8 days later he had passed. I lost the person I was closest to in the world.
That is unfortunately not a unique story. The only way I know to honour those we have lost is to protect the ones we still have.

There is no way to sugar coat this:
We have been woefully under-prepared for this crisis and our response has been poor and often late.
In the UK we are estimated to have one of the worlds highest death rate per 100k capita (IHME

In the past 100 days we have:
- Had our leaders downplay the severity of this virus.
- Tried out an outrageous “herd immunity” strategy.
- Resisted a lockdown for over a month.
- Missed out on EU ventilator scheme and experienced a serious shortage.

- We still have shortages of Personal Protective Equipment for NHS workers.
- Ignored WHO advice on testing.
- Taken far too long testing NHS workers on the front line.
- Gave up on contact-tracing too early.
- Poor communication strategy led to panic buying and confusion.

This is all costing lives. That is what is at stake. The biggest test of our generation.
I want this Government to succeed in this crisis - I said so on TV on more than one occasion! But this has simply not been good enough.
There is still time to save lives. To protect our NHS

Give all our doctors, nurses, healthcare workers appropriate PPE. Make sure they are tested now. Introduce mass testing for the population. Give full financial security to all (UBI). Do anything necessary to get our hospitals the number of ventilators needed. Listen to the WHO!
I lost my dad and my best friend to this virus. Others will too. But we can still protect families from tragedy.
My dads life was not given to be used as political cover for accountability. If we can shed light on policies that could save lives, that is exactly what we must do.
