A thread: PS this remains one of my lowest lows in life. https://twitter.com/emman_amp/status/1248171861290168322
It was back in 2005, 2nd term I think and I was getting ready for a Maths mid term exam, God knows I never liked Maths and I hated it more after this incident.
I could see the Maths geeks getting excited for the exam and it just frustrated me even more, I became more and more irritable.
I can't exactly remember what sparked the bickering with one of my classmates, a girl, and the next thing words were flying from her end of the classroom and my end of the classroom and an extremely irritable me was just not having any of it...
It is at this point that the rest of the class starts cheering and jeering, PS our class was the noisest class ever and we already had a record!
Overwhelmed by my upcoming exam, and all the jeering from the class I then decide to stand up, walk to the bin by one of the corners to go and sharpen my pencil
I almost make it safely to the bin and just before I get there, moghel is pushing me from behind and I try by all means to keep calm
I eventually make it to the bin but this time the noise from the class is even more rowdy and getting louder by the minute. Looking back I am actually wondering why the noise didn't attract the authorities by that time and they had to only show up after the disaster!
OK, backstory.... Did you all have those razor blades that would be put at the end of a pen barrel to make using the razor much easier?
OK back to the story, girl keeps pushing and shoving me to the corner and it is at this particular point that I completely lost all my cool all the adrenaline in me twerking at this point.
The rest of the events that followed after this are all a blur all I remember is there was blood everywhere! LOTS OF BLOOD
I don't remember when or how the girl left the classroom but what I remember is our invigilator that day quickly walked in and the exam had to start. Imagine having to write a Maths exam in that state, Maths that I hated so much
I wasn't even half way through the exam when I got called to the Principal's office and I remember the chills down my spine as I walked to the office that day. We had a very very strict white Principal who had one of the sharpest eyes I have ever come across in my entire life
I get to the office and I am made to sit by the reception and it is at this point that teachers start flocking in to come and see this Form 1 pupil that had just almost killed someone.
I finally make it to the Principal's office, one on one with this very scary man with a heavy aura. I made to write a report of what happened right away and as I write the report, Mr Principal is shouting in my ear and that felt like a lifetime.
I eventually leave the office and I go back to class to find the rest of my mates done with the exam. I then decided to put all my belongings in order as I was most certain expulsion was next in line.
As I am secretly packing my books, I get informed that I am being called outside.
Did I mention the girl's mum was one of the teachers at the school and girl's brother was also one of our seniors at the same school?

I go outside to find the girl's mum and she looked livid and it is at this point that I broke down and cried. God what had I done...
I don't remember what the mum said to me because at this point the water works were uncontrollable.....
A few minutes later, the brother came walking with girl who at this point had practically all her face bandaged....

I had done to his little sister.
I also got a second visit from the mother later that day and this time she was calm and all, even told me she understands. I cried again (I am such a crier) , this time tears of relief, her family seemed to understand. Now what was left was left

was to face my victim!!! I was scared to death. After a heart to heart with her, she told me it was all OK and she also apologized to me (they don't make people like her anymore)
We cried together!
We cried together!
Fast forward a few weeks later, I was called back to the office and told that there was no need to call my parents. Neither was I being expelled. You can imagine the anxiety I experienced all those weeks not knowing my fate.
Time came for girl to remove her bandaged and that's the first time I got to see how much damage I had done. I had stabbed her just above her eyebrow running down to her upper eyelid and miraculously missed her eyeball and continued from under the eye for a few centimeters.
To date, girl is so much in love with her scar and every time I bump into her she always thanks me for it
. Unfortunately, I haven't forgiven myself for it and hopefully one day I will be able to forgive myself and move on from this traumatic experience.
