Re the £10k budget to enable MPs' *staff* to work from home - many are suggesting it's an excessive amount for offices typically comprising 5 staff. 2 points:
1. It's a limit not a target - IPSA will only pay back legitimate spending for this requirement - it's not a wad of cash.
2. It should be fairly obvious that you can't just divert an constituency or HoC office number to a home phone - security and constituents' privacy needs to be considered, alongside the secure parliamentary network access some staff require. Costs may be higher than you'd think.
MPs' staff are working flat out as it is helping people in crisis as a result of #coronavirus. The last thing they need is calls from folk angry cos they've been told MPs are being given a handout when they can't get help. Trade unionists spreading this bile - honestly, wake up.
And OMG I put "an" instead of "a" in a threaded tweet, this is a disaster.
