I am right now proofing a very interesting article on vegetarianism that uses data by National Family Health Survey. According to this data, vegetarianism among women is more prevalent than men, especially among Sikhs. What could be the reasons?
Another interesting finding: vegetarianism grew by 1 percentage point for SC/ST/OBC women but by 4.4 percentage points for "Other" category (basically upper caste) women. Similar increase for men.
And big increase in vegetarianism among the rich too.
