So today was #SafePlaceSelfie day. It's a very special day for me. Not just because it's grown to be what it is, but because the campaign was created @nwas Social Media Committee. These wonderful people. Let me tell you about them...

This is @ceober4. One of my favorite people to have a drink with at a conference. Why? Her sense of humor and wit. I can't think of a time talking to her in which she hasn't made me laugh. Before she joined SM, our IG had <100 followers. Now it's almost 1500.

This is @ElyseHagner. Not sure she knows this, but she's a role model of mine both professionally & personally. She takes stressful situations with such class & I admire her practicality the most. On the committee, she's our "do-it-all" member & is seemingly always able to help.

My boy Johnny Keyes! @jkeyeser almost died once drinking a milkshake at a conference. It was hilarious. (you'd have had to been there)

And THAT is why he's such a great guy to have on your team. That and he may be our hardest worker on the committee.

If you don't already know @BSchuermanWX, you should. This guy wears so many freaking hats and has so much energy, I am tired for him. My favorite memory of Brian is he was the ONLY person to come with me to get ICE CREAM TACOS at NWA in Anaheim. Best date ever.

This is @hylandwx and honest to God, I have never seen him not smiling. I truly think Pat may be one of the most like-able people in meteorology, if not all people. He's been huge for this team running the remote team for the conference in the past...among many other things.

This is new father @JustinTGee! Justin is one of the newer additions to the committee and joined at a time when he was having his first child AND getting promoted soon after. All the while still volunteering to help out on the committee. Hella respect!

Here's @drjohndfrye. What's funny about John is, he's been on the SM committee for several years now but we have yet to actually meet in person. I had to think about that too because I just feel I know him that well. One day sir, we will cheers at a future meeting!

My buddy @matthewsolum! Matt has one of the coolest jobs in the NWS AND he's a hardcore athlete AND he's a great father AND he does truly...awful Backstreet Boys rendition at the NWA karaoke night. Favorite committee memory: live-tweeting the NWP session.

Here's another role model of mine in the agency... @MatthewDux. Matt was one of the first people I made a point to meet and collaborate with at my first conference and that interaction made me realize I wanted to pursue social media as a focus in the NWS. Thanks Matt!

There are truly, very few people in the world I admire more than @WxStrong. Her FIRST presentation ever at NWA wasn't even about her own work...she used that platform to increase awareness of harassment her colleagues endure everyday. She legit OWNS the name Strong.

Some folks this year weren't able to submit selfies but I am not leaving out @ScotPilie_Wx who I met once at an AMS conference and knew right away he should join our team. This is another guy who I've literally never seen NOT smile. You want your day brightened? Talk to Scot.

Another recent addition is @camdenwalker! I'm very much looking forward to getting to know him better over the next several years. The work he's done at @capitalweather is what caught our eye to bring him on the team. I also remember Peruvian food at the St. Louis meeting!

Sorry, not sorry @HenryRothenberg. I had to share it.

Henry is another one that I can't wait to cheers with when I am on my way to this year's meeting, which I believe is what we did after this picture to celebrate @NC5_LelanStatom's Broadcaster of the Year award.

Then there is this rockstar that you all already know... @morganabigail. Name a thing the wx community has done on SM that she hasn't had a role in. How? Simple: Her blood is caffeine. I need more than 360 characters to brag on her so I'll just say...O' Captain, My Captain!

There are few times you get the opportunity to work on a team that gels so well together. It truly is one of the proudest experiences in my career. Now that you've met the team, follow them, reach out, and get to know them. Take it from me, you'll be better because of it.
