Industry bodies, authorities, and operators across the world are figuring out ways to work with governments to sustain public transport through and after COVID. I will share examples of some work in this thread :
Cities and regions are testing various methods to keep transport running for essential service workers, unlike us where more ore less all public transport options are shut.

Although, everything is not well. There are reports of overcrowding, mostly because of reduced service - as a result of depleting finances and/or un availability of crew.

Immediate response from some might be why are people even commuting. For the privileged lot, it might be easy to say stay home, stay safe. Not everyone can afford to.
There is clear evidence to prove that being able to stay home is a privilege not everyone has. In situations like these, it is more important than ever to keep asking the decision makers what is the rationale behind cutting all service.

Anyway, ending this thread on a positive note. Thanks to everyone who is keeping essential services up and running. https://twitter.com/acsnottingham/status/1247799109550931970?s=20
We can recover from this with collective action. Let us please start having these conversations at whatever level we can. https://twitter.com/BBPVedike/status/1248157004058652672?s=20
