The biggest, most important lesson from Covid19 in the UAE for everyone should be:

Living the lavish consumer instagrammable lifestyle has left so many without savings that can sustain losing their jobs. This should never have happened. Use this to learn.
In order to 'appear' UAE-resident-type, so many lived beyond their means. Credit Cards maxed out, personal loans for wants rather than needs, over-dependence on labels to define one's worth in front of others.

None of this matters now that we're stuck at home. Learn from this.
When I first came to Dubai, a close friend told me that from the moment you step onto the plane, Dubai caters to every one of your senses. Every single one. And if you're not careful, you can give in to indulgence rather than enjoy it on occasion.
I love UAE for all it is. And yet, it is OUR fault we get into debt or etc just because we want to appear happy.

Thing is, we focus on temporary happiness rather than permanent joy. Big difference.

Yes, get the Merc or Audi, if you can 'afford' it. But a Corolla IS fine too.
I'm not trying to shame anyone into how they live their life. Enjoy. BUT, be responsible.
