To get everyone's mind off of this Coronavirus pandemic, I'm going to share my photos from my December 2019 vacation.
Here's the first one:
Here's the first one:
This was the cruise ship we were on. The cruise line was really nice, and extended the trip for a few days... at no cost! Word must've gotten out, because there were a whole bunch of cameras and reporters there to greet us at the port in Japan.
This was the cruise ship that we switched to on our way back to the US. They extended our stay on this ship for free, too! And there were a bunch of cameras at the port when we got to Oakland. Honestly, I think the cruise line was just trying to get a lot of good publicity.
On our way back home, we were able to stop in New Orleans just in time for Mardi Gras. Shoulder-to-shoulder with thousands of people the whole time we were there... what a blast!
When I finally got to New York City, it was impossible to catch a taxicab, so I decided to take the subway, instead. This train was already packed when I got to it, but I'm a slender guy... so I was able to squeeze my way onto it just before the doors closed.
On my way home, I stopped at my friend's party in Westport CT. I was so happy to see everyone, that I had to make sure to bear hug everyone, because most of them had to travel the next day. The NYT even wrote an article about what an awesome party it was! https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/23/us/coronavirus-westport-connecticut-party-zero.html
I gotta say, I'm glad that I got back home when I did. It seems that I was staying just ahead of the Coronavirus during my entire vacation.
Whew! Lucky me!
