I've spent years being right when every other pundit was wrong, and getting libelously attacked for it by the other pundits – particularly the other pundits on the left. Today I was proven right that Biden would be the nominee. My reward? More libelous attacks than ever.
With precious few exceptions, political pundits (of all leanings) are the scuzziest, most immature, most vindictive, and most unhinged people I've ever encountered. They spend 95% of their time trying to destroy the other pundits on their own side.
I've worked in several other professions prior to this, and I've always found the vast majority of my colleagues and competitors to be good people. Political punditry is a breeding ground for uniquely horrible people.
The hardest part to convey to outsiders is that it's rarely liberal pundits trying to destroy conservative pundits, or the other way around. It's pundits with similar views, fighting for the same space, seeing each other as the "competition" and trying to destroy each other.
I wouldn't expect competing liberal pundits to publicly pat me on the back because I was right about Biden and they were all wrong. That's not their job. But to come after me in such vicious and coordinated fashion today, specifically because I was right and they were wrong?
Again, these pundits aren't coming after me because they liked Bernie and he lost, or whatever. There's understandably some of that too. But I'm talking about pundits, who don't even have a horse in the race, coming after me today simply because I showed up them up by being right
This isn't about me getting credit, or even about being trolled. It's just such a helpless feeling to realize that, with politics being so important, it's mostly in the hands of pundits who are such deranged people, their antics would get them fired from literally any other job.
THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE ARE DYING and yet so many liberal political pundits think the most important thing they can do right now is sabotage the reputations of their fellow pundits who got it right when they got it wrong. No wonder our elections turn out so poorly.
What's bizarre is that the liberal pundits who come at me the hardest are usually people with bigger followings than me, more prestigious gigs than me. Some of them have trolled me so obsessively, they've lost focus and lost their gigs over it. These are the pundits we rely on?
Of course when these pundits all said Biden was a goner, they weren't wrong, they were lying. They knew South Carolina was coming. They were just telling you what you were expecting to hear during Iowa/NH. No wonder they're obsessed with me. I tell the truth when they're lying.
Political punditry as is a career where failure is always rewarded. Tell people whatever they're expecting to hear today, and they'll embrace you. By the time you're proven wrong, they never notice, and then you move on to telling them the next thing they're expecting to hear.
No one will ever be able to fix political punditry but you. Your instinct is to believe any pundit who's telling you what you were expecting to hear, and to disbelieve any pundit who's using evidence and logic to tell you what you're not expecting to hear. You have it backwards.
If you're following me, it's because you've come to appreciate logic and evidence over bullshit, so you're far better at this than most consumers of political punditry. Yet you still tolerate the pundits who turn out to be wrong every fucking time, which is most of them.
Why would anyone sit there and watch that meaningless dog and pony show in Iowa and New Hampshire? Those two states tell us literally nothing. Yet you believe these pundits who lie to you about those two states, and you overlook it when they're proven 100% wrong a few weeks later
The most shit I ever took in my career was for pointing out that there was no Hillary email scandal. Even some Hillary fans accused me of being delusional. Yet throughout that process, 100% of the evidence pointed to there being no scandal, no criminal case, no story, nothing.
Every untalented pundit out there knows that all they have to do is feed you some variation of what all the other pundits are feeding you, and they'll never be scrutinized. Safety in numbers. No one ever notices that most pundits are ultimately proven wrong most of the time.
Don't get me wrong. I've met so many good people in the political realm. Celebrities doing great activism. Other people with twelve followers who find a way to make a difference. Plenty of politicians and staffers are good people. But holy shit are most of the pundits psychotic.
Considering how many liberal pundits get out of bed each day trying to think up new ways to smear me, I really appreciate those of you who have given me a chance and judged me on my track record and insights, instead of whatever you've "heard" about me.
But when you look at my stellar track record, and how easily the other liberal pundits have been able to jealously assign me a reputation as a tinfoil hat conspiracy theorist who's never right about anything... you realize no one's reputation in this industry is remotely accurate
This isn't about me. I'm doing fine. I have millions of readers. I don't get to complain about my fate in the industry. I'm lucky to be where I am.

But as a consumer of political punditry, it's crucial that YOU understand everything I've laid out here, and apply it accordingly.
