A specific problem with the phrase "men are trash" is that it assigns blame to the category of men, as if it is inherent without acknowledging the true genesis which lead to issues within men. It's actually an incredibly unproductive statement void of any empathy.

If an opposite categorical statement were to be made and normalized regarding women, and instances of their lack of accountability, we wouldn't hear the end of it.

As such, there's complete lack of consistency.

The new generation of Muslims have come to the opposite extreme of allowing full criticism of men without any criticism of women.

While women have certainly lost and suffered various grievances, one wrong doesn't justify another.
