Do birds have a balance organ in their spinal canal that governs lower limb balance?

We used uCT to compare LSO morphologies across diverse avian taxa. Notably small canals belong to taxa that are "bad" at perching like swifts and mousebirds. https://twitter.com/bingbrunton/status/1248096870133420038
Other species with small canals in the LSO include aquatic specialists like grebes and loons, who have a bit of a tough time trying to walk on land.
