May Allah have mercy on the old men of the Muslim communities of South Africa, who for decades "established their faces in every masjid". Most of us will never understand what they are feeling right now, or how much we should be appreciating them for the mercy they bring.

I've known them and I've seen them. Never a wasted opportunity to come back to the masjid, let alone missing a fard salaah some of them barely missing tahajjud salaah for years.

When they see packed shopping malls and lines outside ATMs, their minds can't conceive that these activities are any more essential than establishing the prayer, which is the entire reason the Earth and human race were created.

My fathers, who've dedicated their lives to encouraging their communities to return to the masjid, are now at home, weeping in prayer. Understand their sentiment.

Weep with them if you can, but don't trivialise their pain with your limited understanding, with your lack of empathy and your decontructionalist, materialist ideology that shaped your mind during your unfortunate stint studying humanities.

Some of them are the real woke crowd, while the "woke" were asleep during the night, they were awake praying for all of us.

Allah has declared war on the one who hurts his close friends I.e the awliyaa. Proceed with caution.
